In TLXOS 3.x, we compiled debs from the Jessie source because the version that came with Wheezy was too buggy. The Jessie version of feh (2.12) doesn't support the --auto-rotate option, which is needed to correctly orient JPEG images generated by anything modern, so we built feh from Stretch source and used that in Jessie-based releases starting from 4.8.0. In late Buster builds, we had to both upgrade feh and modify source code to turn on the inotify build option, in order to make the "--auto-reload" command line option available for use by mixed-mode Digital Signage. 2.12 is for Wheezy-based releases, 2.18 is for late Jessie-based releases, 3.6.3 (actually Bullseye's version) is for late Buster-based releases.
